We Are Going To Be Parents

This past week we found that that we are going to have a baby. Wow, a baby!!! I woke up this past Tuesday morning and decided it was time to take the one and only pregnancy test I had from States. A few minutes later, I ran into the bedroom, woke up Marcus at 6:30am by turning on the lights and asking him to make sure I was seeing a positive sign in the window. Yes, there it was… a pink positive sign. As soon as we realized that our eyes were not playing tricks on us it hit us, “What did we do?” “Are we ready?” we asked ourselves in excitement and even a little fear.

We traveled three days later to the capital city of our Province to meet with a doctor from America and he confirmed the pregnancy and we had our first prenatal visit. I am 6 weeks along and currently everything looks good. Praise Father. After we got the good news from the doctor we celebrated by eating Italian food and treating ourselves to a blizzard.
Even though we are so far away from our family and friends, we got to celebrate this good news by calling our family and friends and talking to them via the webcam. They were all so excited for us. There were big smiles, laughter, and even tears of joy. We praise Father for technology that makes it possible for us to share life with those we love back home.
We are very excited. Over the past few months we’ve felt Father give us a peace in the area. Kat was able to get off her seizure medication and she has had no side effects since being off the medicine. It still doesn’t feel “real” yet but it is incredible to know that even right now God is forming our son or daughter in His image; in Katlyn’s womb He is creating our child’s looks, character, emotions, and also their future. Our pr is that even now Father would call our child to Himself and that our child’s life would bring joy and glory to the One who has done more that we could ever ask or imagine in our lives.
