Fish and Walmart

Marcus decided on Saturday he wanted to buy a “friend” (aka fish). I was thinking he waned to get one gold fish or a Beta and that we could put in a cool vase that we have. Nope, he wanted FISH!! Lots of them. Growing up he had tropical fish and now once again he had the desire to have some more. This began our Wal-Mart weekend. Went to Wal-Mart Saturday evening, bought the things we found earlier with our gift cards and while we were there we looked at the fish. We waited around for forever by the fish tank and when we realized that no one would be helping us that night, we decided to go the other Wal-Mart. At 11:30pm we left the other Wal-Mart, with an aquarium, and all necessary aquarium appliances, three fish (two puffer fish and a silver dollar), a frog and a snail. We got home and set up the aquarium… and awoke the next morning to find that our frog was dead… one of the puffer fish turned out to be an aggressive puffer and it pecked the frog to death.

Sunday afternoon, we took the dead frog back to Wal-Mart for a refund… and rather than get frustrated at the lack of help in the fish department, we went to Pets Mart instead. We bought three more fish there (one dragon fish, a Baal shark, and a sucker fish). We took them to their new home, and the puffer fish started pecking at the new fishes’ fins. By this time we were so frustrated with the puffer we decided he had to go. We went back to Wal-Mart for the fifth time in 24 hours and got a refund on our possessive pecker puffer. (Say that three times fast).

We now have five fish and a snail and a pretty cool aquarium and a dumb fish that can keep us entertained for hours. Marcus has promised me that he will feed fish and clean the tank. I guess until we can have a dog, these fish will have to do.
