Enjoy the Moment

Things that have made me happy this past week

Winning second place in the LCAA volleyball tournament,

walks at night with my husband,

watching home videos,

seeing my international friends on the video (I miss y’all),

going to the movie,

relaxing at La Diosa,

organizing drawers and closets,

writing letters,

reading good books,

getting to share my missional heart and having two more people join us in Germany,

having the Word come alive,

blue birds,

praying and reading the Word with Marcus,

our fish,

almost being done with the Germany application,

preparing to leave for Germany,

the JSIs and their encouragement,

setting up a time to met with a good friend next week,

brown boots,

wonderful weather,

Chris on American Idol (Marcus and I both love him)

working out,

finding someone to house sit for us while we are gone (an answered prayer),

Sonic drinks,

receiving cute pictures of our new nephew, Hayden,

Easter eggs everywhere- reminding me of this time last year when I found a diamond ring in an Easter egg when Marcus proposed,

new attitude,

new perspective,

new joy.

Proverbs 3:5-6

Proverbs. 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your path.

“What are some things that you really trust in? Friends? Family? Work? We live in a world where 100% trust is hard to give. We get burned, lied to, cheated, or simply let down on a daily basis, so how can we learn to trust God with all our heart? I think it begins like any other relationship: by just spending time with Him. Listen to Him and watch what He is doing. Trust grows out of experience. The Hebrew word for "trust" is "batakh," which means to cling to, confide in, or to set one's hope or confidence upon. Trusting God with all our hearts begins when we stop clinging to or placing our confidence in ourselves or others.” -Bishop

Trusting

I feel like I have done a terrible job of trusting- clinging to, confiding in, setting my hope on my Jesus lately. I don’t know why it’s been hard for me to trust in Him lately. He is the I AM, ever constant, faithful, my provider, my joy, strength, my salvation. Why is it so hard now to cry out to Him, NEED HIM, set my hope and confidence on Him? Why don’t I feel like I know Him anymore, like He is so far away? I feel like I have been looking for my worth in so many other things than in the ONE who created me and gives me worth simply because I am His creation, His child, His beloved. In my search for signifance, I’ve been let down by people, jobs, ministry, I’ve even let myself down so many times- this has caused a lot of inner anger, hurt, doubt, disappointment, bitterness, pride, the list goes on and on. I am glad my Savior is full of grace and mercy- that He loves me. I need healing. I need God. I want to trust Him again. I want to cling to Him. I want to lay down my burdens of the future, my health situation, insurance, finances, friends, ministry, church, my inner struggles and confide all these things to Him, and cling to Him as He carries me through this journey.

“Come to me all who are weary and I will give you rest” Jesus says. Matthew 11:28 Jesus, Savior, Friend, I’m coming. I am in need of rest.
