Heading Home

Mom, Dad, and Danie left a week ago. It was hard saying good-bye to my family but knowing that we are going to be home in three months made it easier to say good-bye. Also, due to the post partum crazy hormones, before they left just the fact that knowing the good-byes were coming made me so sad and teary. Now that we've said good-bye and they are home safe I'm not so weepy. The last week was a little weird because it's just been the three of us. For about a month and a half we had company, saw friends everyday, etc. Now everyone has gone and it's just us. We've rested A LOT more this week, stayed around the hotel, and had all our last doctor appointments before leaving Thailand!

We were able to get all of Carson's documents back within a week. Most of the time it takes 2-3 weeks to apply for the passport get it back and then get a Visa for China. Father once again blessed us and looked after us because we were able to get it ALL done, (birth certificate translated, passport photos, get the US passport, Chinese Visa, etc) in one week. That in itself is a miracle. Both Carson and I were cleared by our doctors to travel home and we will leave Thailand on Friday, the 20th.

Pray for us on our journey home. We will be taking our Little One, who will be almost three weeks, on a 45 minute taxi ride from the hotel to the airport, a four and a half hour plane ride, and then another 45 minute taxi ride from the airport to the hotel in Beijing. We should arrive at the hotel around 2am on Saturday. Hopefully, we will get a good nights sleep because the next day we have to get to the train station to take a three hour ride on the fast train finally make it to our city. One more taxi ride awaits us and then we will be home. Cold weather, wind and snow will welcome us home. It will be a shock to us all, especially Carson. Pray that Carson will do well traveling, that his ears will not hurt when flying, and that he will sleep well. We are asking a lot of him we know.
