Sleep, TV, and Pizza- What a Great Holiday!

This week is our host country’s National Holiday which means for us a week and a half off from language school. We have really enjoyed this break. We’ve slept in, caught up on a few projects around the house, enjoyed afternoon naps, decorated for Fall, and had the chance to enjoy our favorite tv shows… We started the 4th season of The Office, finished the last season of Lost, and managed to through in a few episodes of Boston Legal into the mix. Even though we are out of school for the week, Marcus has stayed busy with his online Seminary class. He has 40 verses to memorize before his midterm next week. Yikes! We’ve needed this week to rest and recover. I told myself that after this holiday is over I would hit the books hard and really put in the effort to studying the language until we leave for Thailand in three months.

We’ve lived here for a year and a half and we were finally able to our first pizza delivered to our house (Note- when I say pizza I am not talking about Papa John or even Pizza Hut pizza. The pizza here isn’t bad just not American style pizza. Most of the time it’s lacking on the sauce or has no sauce.) We ordered a pepperoni pizza, but they were temporally out of pepperoni and being a little scared of the other meat selections we stuck with cheese, which was extra. When our door bell rang 30 minutes later we were excited, only to find to our amusement the pizza delivery is also somewhat lacking.
Oh Well, it made it to our house, I made some pizza dipping sauce, and we ate it and were content.

It's a...

We found out Monday that we are having a boy. We were a bit shocked because we, and most of our family and friends, really thought it was going to be a girl. When they said, “It’s a boy!” we were taken back… “Really, show us,” and they did and yes indeed it’s a boy.

We are trying to decide on a name for our baby boy and pick out bedding for the nursery. If anyone has any good ideas for a boy, please let us know.

Half Way There

I am half way along. Only 18 more weeks to go. Over the last month I've felt like my stomach has grown a lot. I'm starting to feel somewhat uncomfortable, but I know this is just the beginning. I can't even imagine what I'm going to look like in just a few more months. Yikes! From the front it's still a little hard to tell... but when I turn to the side... yep there it is a baby bump.

Can't Wait To Find Out

We plan on making our monthly six hour prenatal trip to the International Clinic on Monday the 22nd. I am currently 21 weeks along. We are hoping at this next visit that we will get to know the sex of the baby. We, I, can't wait to pick out a name, start decorating, and buy clothes for our little one. We will let you know soon after we find out what the result is. Two pregnancy myths that I've read have me thinking it may be a girl... but so far I seem to be carrying low and many say that's a sign of a boy. I guess we will just have to wait a few more days to find out.

I felt the baby move, kick, at the beginning of the month. What an incredible feeling. The baby is very active at night and lately I've found myself wanting to go to bed a little earlier simply to lay down and feel the baby move before I drift off for the night. Although the movements are still small, Marcus can also feel the baby move. This is an exciting time for us.
As we wait for our child to come we are trying to get a head start. We bought baby furniture at the Ikea in Beijing last month and Marcus and I put it all together and also painted the baby's room (It's a tan color that will go well with decorating for both a boy or girl). We also received gifts from both of our parents for the baby.
Feeling the baby move and seeing the room almost ready for a little one is making the pregnancy so real. I've felt really good during the pregnancy, just a constant tiredness that doesn't seem to go away, but other than that I've been very blessed so far with an easy pregnancy. It seems like the next few months are never going to get here but we are half way along and time as already flown by.
